Alexa loves... Photoshoots #2

I have just done my second photoshoot for my A Midsummer Night's Dream project. This one was on location to make the story really come to life. Hope you like it as much as I liked shooting it.

In a magical forest not so far away lives the beautiful Titania. Elegant and majestic she rules over the enchanted land as queen of the fairies......

Alexa loves... Make up

I don't really wear that much make up on a normal day but as I applied my favourite mascara this morning I felt like I should share the pieces that make me feel fab.

First up is my foundation. My skin is super sensitive and oily so to stop me braking out in spots I use Clinique anti-blemish solutions liquid foundation. I would recogmend anyone who has any issues with blemishes or sensitive skin to try Clinique because it has been so much better for my skin than some other cheaper foundations in the past. It can be a bit pricey but it's definitely worth it!

Next up is my Rimmel eyeshadow. As you can see it's really worn as it has been used so much but it's lasted quite a long time. These colours are my go to shadows that I feel suit me the best. There are other choices in colour palettes, something to suit every occasion. From dark smokey colours to relaxed browns there is something for everyone.

My MAC mascara is the best mascara I have ever used, and I have used a few. At £20 it's a bit of a luxury but I would definitely recogmend it as it makes my lashes look so long.

If you like a nice thin eyeliner this is the one for you. For nice thin lines or super detail this is the most accurate liner I have used. L'oreal super liner perfect slim definitely does what it says on the label.

The lips are one of my favourite parts of the face. I always enjoy illustrating them and it's the same when applying my make up. The lipstick is my favourite part. It can change a whole look. This is my favourite MAC lipstick Creme in your coffee. It's a stuttle everyday colour but it still makes a statement.

So that's what is in my make up bag! What's in yours?

Alexa loves... Flower Crowns

Ta'da flower headpiece ready for my A Midsummer Night's Dream photo-shoot.

Want to know how I created the flower headpiece? Want to create your own? Well here is how you do it.

All you need is:

1. An old headband

2. Some artificial flowers (you can pick these up for a couple of pounds)

3. Some strong scissors and electrical tape. (Don't worry if you can get electrical tape any strong tape will do.)

Now all you need to do is cut the artificial   flowers off the branches and wined the stems around the headband, securing in place with the tape.

It's nice and simple and you can make lots of different styles and sizes by just adding more flowers or different coloured flowers. Even using different headbands can create different shapes. Have ago yourself and show me who you create. Have fun!

Alexa loves...Balmain trousers

Alexa loves... Final toile

So I've finished my second and final toile meaning I'm now ready to crack on with my final garment. Exciting!

As you can see on this toile I have lined the garment and appliquéd a carnation on as well as adding the zip.

Sewing the lining was a challenge as it was very slippy and the machines did not work very well with it. Therefore when I go fabric shopping I need to find lining that is less slippy.

I need to use a quite strong fabric on the rest of the garment to give it shape and to hold the decorative pieces which shall be sewn to it.

Alexa loves... Maisie Williams

I am loving Maisie Willaims style right now.
Looking adorable in this super cute lilac dress at the TV BAFTAs.

Stunning in this stylish red lace piece at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Looking sharpe at the National television awards.

And for Jimmy Kimmel live she looked so cool. I love the cute frog bag!

Alexa loves... Merchandise

I'm currently working on some merchandise for my A Midsumner Nights Dream project.

The customer for my project is a theatre, the Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre, so I am creating merchandise to be sold at the performances to help to generate more funding for Chester Performs.
