Alexa loves...The 1920's

It may be the Easter holidays but that's not going to stop me from cracking on with my 1920's inspire bag!

As well as a 1920's inspired shirt I am currently working on a 1920's inspired clutch bag for the marketing part of my college course. I designed five different clutch bags but finally decided on this Art Deco scallop pattern inspired clutch bag! I felt a clutch bag best fitted my customer and as the 1920's were a decade know for partying what would suit it more than a clutch bag?

Alexa loves... Music

I love fashion but I also love music! Whatever mood, whatever situation, whatever outfit there is always a song that fits perfectly.

I'm going to start using my blog not just for fashion purposes but for music too! So you won't just be hearing about my new clothes but what I was listening to when I wore them! If you have any good bands or musicians you would like me to review let me know and I'll have a listen and tell everyone what I though of them! I can't wait to hear your suggestions as I am always looking for new music.

Alexa loves... The Roaring 20's

This is my toile for my 1920s inspired shirt. The shirt itself will have fringing all the way down the front and back from the empire line but as my toile is just a practise I have only shredded the top row at the front, the back still needs finishing.  Now I'm ready to start making the real thing....

Alexa loves... The Roaring 20s

So my design meeting went well and we decided that I should make, drum role please, this shirt!
The shirt itself shouldn't be too tricky to make, it's the fringing I'm worried about. The fringing on this shirt will be made from shredded black cotton, so that might take me a while to do but when I was experimenting with it I thought it looked so effective so I just had to use it!
I've cut out the pattern for my shirt and my first twarl is nearly complete so watch this space to see a picture of it as soon as it's finished! Then it will be time to start making the real thing!
